TESL Ontario Webinar

Online learning has never been more important than it is now. While there may be hundreds of online learning platforms, with more being developed all the time, the question is, what works best for our purposes?

For Adult English Language instructors across Canada, access to paid platforms varies depending on which organization you are working for. The presenter will highlight the tried and true, and more importantly, free, online learning platforms that can be set up and maintained easily by the instructor.

Google Classroom, Canvas, and Moodle platforms will be outlined briefly, with the online participants given access to participate as students. Depending on participant interests, further webinars will be developed on each, so that instructors can choose the online learning platform that best suits their teaching needs.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Jen Artan is a Continuing Education instructor with the Thames Valley District School Board and Materials Developer with LearnIT2Teach. She has a Master of Education from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She has presented webinars on a wide range of educational technology topics. She is a certified Google Educator (Level 2). She keeps current on how educational technology is used to help engage learning and develop 21st century skills. She is a dedicated TESL Ontario volunteer on the webinar team, blogging, and presenting at affiliate events and the annual conference.
